HOW IT WORKS

Lengthening the spine

By lengthening the spine through varying loads, the DRX9000® helps relieve pressure on the spine. The relief of pressure promotes healing by allowing oxygen, water, and nutrient-rich fluids into the intervertebral disc space. The stretching also increases the space between the vertebrae, which can improve mobility and reduce nerve compression.

CLINICAL RESEARCH

Proven pain relief

In a retrospective cohort study of patients who underwent a 6-week treatment protocol of non-surgical spinal decompression via the DRX9000®, we concluded non-surgical spinal decompression was associated with a reduction in pain and an increase in disc height.

We identified 30 patients with lumbar disc herniation with an average age of 65 years, body mass index of 29 kg/m2, 21 females and 9 males, and an average duration of LBP of 12.5 weeks. During treatment, low back pain decreased from 6.2 (SD 2.2) to 1.6 (2.3, p < 0.001) and disc height increased from 7.5 (1.7) mm to 8.8 (1.7) mm (p < 0.001). Increase in disc height and reduction in pain were significantly correlated (r = 0.36, p = 0.044).

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to see results after non surgical spinal decompression DRX9000® treatment?

During your first few sessions, most patients begin to feel the relief from the chronic pain as pressure on your compressed nerve will be relieved as your spine is in the decompressed state. After your treatments you may feel initial sourness in your back as muscles are stretched that normally are not; we highly recommend the DRX9000® brace with the hot/cold gel insert to be used during the entire treatment period.

How much time does it take to complete DRX9000® treatment?

Typically, the sessions are just under 30 minutes; 20 DRX9000® treatments sessions are recommended, although in some cases it may require more. Treatment is broken into 5 times per week for the first two weeks, 3 times per week for weeks three and four, and twice a week for the remaining two. Some DRX9000® providers schedule patients 5 times per week for four weeks or 4 times per week for five weeks.
